We started our trip to Yellowstone departing from DFW
and met the Rhodes and Kolbs at the Denver airport.
Jameson was so excited to see his cousins, aunts, uncles
and grandparents!!!
We ate lunch in Billings before heading to the park.
Jameson started his animal conquest by chasing ducks.
Then we picked up supplies at Walmart.
Giant bouncy ball = must have.
All that duck chasing and ball bouncing tired
this little guy out for the two hour ride.
I don't normally condone child leashes but
I am not sure we could have kept up with the
boy in a 2.2 million acre park.
We spent the first few days at Mammoth Hot Springs.
We had to stay on walk ways to avoid the sulfur springs
and falling through unstable ground.
Jameson spent every free minute climbing, exploring
and finding adventure!
Gran and Pop helped the little boy get back down the hill.
The second stop was Old Faithful. We spent 3 days exploring
this area of the park and stayed in cabins.
We caught the show several times.
Jameson loved to watch the geyser erupt.
Then we walked a couple miles to the Morning Glory pool.
What a sleepy boy after so much adventure.
Jameson loved having Nathan show
him all the big boy tricks to exploring.
We spent one day hiking at the Grand Tetons.
Pictures don't do the scenery justice.
We took a ferry across Jenny Lake so we could
hike up to Inspiration Point.
One of my favorite pics of the trip. Thank you
Danae for catching this one. We just hiked up
two miles to the Inspiration Point look out an
we were enjoying the view.
These two kept busy at dinner by carving their
dinner roles with spoons. Silly boys.
After dinner, we walked around the Snow Lodge
and enjoyed the music and atmosphere.
We caught a rainy day towards the end of the
trip but weathered the rain and explored
Yellow Stone Grand Canyon and the
water falls.
We also caught some amazing videos of bison
and bears on our rainy day:
Our last stay in the park was at Lake Yellowstone.
Again, pictures don't even come close.
I am blessed to have this family!
Jameson loved playing with the rocking chairs:
Jameson put his own backpack on this morning : )
He and Pop enjoyed a little rocking chair
relaxation before hitting the road.
Sweet Emily was happy to hold Jameson's
hand for today's hike...
...until he fell asleep : )
But he woke up ready to play with Nathan.
Gran Pop and Jameson loved the rocking chairs
on the patio at the Yellow Stone Lake Lodge.
I might have let Jameson drive a little one morning...
shush, don't tell Mommy : )
The last day we stopped at a park to burn some energy
before heading to the hotel next to the airport.
We had an amazing time and love
traveling with the Rhodes and Kolbs.
